The most important thing you can do to learn about PTA events & activities is to sign up for the Weekly Roar. It is the primary source for school announcements, upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and other Longfellow news.

What the PTA supports

 

Parent donations and volunteer support allow the PTA to fund a wide range of programs and activities, including:

• Family events, cultural celebrations, assemblies, Literacy Night, and school dances

• Field trips, eighth-grade activities, and other student events

• Classroom grants and other support for teachers and counselors

• Student clubs, after-school sports, and affinity groups

• Yearbooks, campus beautification, and Safe Routes to School initiatives

Come to a PTA meeting!

 

The PTA meets in the Longfellow Multi-Purpose Room in September, October, November, January, February, and March of each school year -- keep an eye on the Weekly Roar for specific dates and times. Everyone in the Longfellow community is welcome. Meetings are a good way to hear school updates, learn about PTA activities, share ideas, and meet other families.

You do not need to join the PTA to attend meetings, volunteer, or participate in PTA activities. If you would like to become a member, you can join online at this link.

The PTA relies primarily on donations from Longfellow families and community members. Every contribution helps, and participation at any amount is appreciated.

Volunteer

​

We have volunteer opportunities of all sizes, from helping for a few hours at an event to joining a committee or coordinating a program. Current needs include event support, fundraising, website updates, advisory room parents, and campus beautification.
